For over 25 years, Sunbacker has created all kinds of projects for and with the Dillon Works. Most items had never been created before. Some items were 100% fiberglass and other times only pieces which would be made to add to the effects desired. Many times steel, aluminum and wood would be added to our fiberglass to increase effects and structures.
As with any new design, construction challenges could develop. I can say truthfully 100% of the time the Dillon Works has taken the high road on every occasion. I enjoy their creative skills and creativity, and am looking forward to our next adventure together.
For many years Sunbacker has had the honor to work with Kenworth Research and Development Laboratories. New designs and concepts would be produced at the R & D labs out of clay or HD foams. From these shapes, Sunbacker produced molds and the 1st operational parts. These 1st parts could be tested as to their performance. This latest photo was for the 52” sleeper unit and fairing fenders for the T680 now in production.
Sunbacker met up with Sandy to look over his imported Helocat. This Helocat was built for shorter people and needed over 34 revisions to bring this unique watercraft to Sandy’s standards. Sandy is very knowledgeable in marine design and marine workings.
Many revisions increased occupancy, strength, and reduced weight. Once the revisions were completed, Sunbacker produced molds and tooling. The revised boats were produced and are in production.
